COERR Volunteer Groups and Catholic Relief Team Preparing Relief Package for Distribution to Flood Victims

   In 2021, heavy rainfalls in many parts of the country caused several Provinces to become inundated.

   During October and November, the situation in Ban Paeng area in Phrom Buri District, Sing Buri Province, for instance, was considered critical. When the water level was as high as 1 meter, Bishop Joseph Pibul Visitnondachai organized a meeting to announce that villagers whose houses were affected by floods were allowed to move in and live in the Holy Name of Jesus School until the situation returned to normal. The Sisters of the Sacred Hearts also visited and provided some meals to the flood victims. COERR invited all who wished to visit and help the suffering people in need by facilitating and coordinating with the focal persons of each affected area.

   COERR Volunteer Groups together with many Catholic organizations under Catholic Bishops Conference of Thailand, namely Caritas Thailand, COERR, Thai Catholic Media, Religious Congregation and Schools, etc., had formed the Catholic relief team to raise funds and prepare dry food and relief supplies. Catholic relief team then delivered the relief packages to the flood victim communities in Chai Nat and Ayutthaya Provinces during October and November.

   During October 12-13, 2021, COERR Vulunteer groups and Catholic relief team helped packing 1,300 sets of food and relief supplies and delivered to 6 flood victims communities in Sena Districts of Ayutthaya Province on 15 October 2021.

On October 13 , 2021, the number of 1,250 sets of relief supplies were packed.

   On November 2, 2021, Catholic Relief Team visited Uthai Thani Province to provide 470 sets of relief bags to the flood victims in 6 communities.

   On November 19th, Catholic Relief Team prepared 200 sets of relief bags and 200 packs of water bottles for distribution to the flood victims in Bang Luang Subdistrict, Sapphaya District, Chai Nat Province.

   On November 25, 2021, Catholic Relief Team visited and distributed 200 sets of Relief Bags and water bottles to flood victim communities in Ko Kret, Nonthaburi Province.
